STEM Management Trainee
Job description
Purpose of the Role Develop high-potential STEM graduates into future technical and business leaders through structured job rotations, hands-on projects, and leadership development across key functions of the organization. Key Responsibilities 1. Cross-functional Job Rotation Participate in structured rotations across key functions such as Production, Engineering, Maintenance, Quality, Supply Chain, R&D, Digital/IT and Business Operations. Gain hands-on understanding of manufacturing processes, business operations and end-to-end value chains. Work closely with experienced managers and subject-matter experts during each rotation. 2. Business & Process Improvement Identify operational problems and improvement opportunities using analytical and technical knowledge. Analyze processes, data and performance indicators to identify root causes and improvement opportunities. Support projects related to Productivity, Quality, Cost, Safety, Sustainability and Operational Excellence. Apply tools such as Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, Data Analytics and Digital Technology where appropriate. 3. Project Ownership Take ownership of assigned improvement or business projects from problem identification through implementation. Develop solutions based on data and business requirements. Track project progress, measure results and present recommendations to management. Work with cross-functional teams to ensure successful implementation. 4. Technology & Innovation Explore opportunities to apply AI, Automation, Data Analytics, Digitalization and emerging technologies to improve business performance. Support digital transformation initiatives and identify opportunities to improve efficiency through technology. Translate technical concepts into practical business solutions. 5. Leadership Development Participate in leadership development programs, workshops and mentoring sessions. Develop skills in communication, presentation, stakeholder management, decision-making and people leadership. Work with senior management and gain exposure to strategic business decision-making. Build the capability to take on future supervisory or management responsibilities. Qualifications Bachelor's or Master's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM) or related fields. Fresh graduates or candidates with 0–2 years of working experience are welcome. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Passion for technology, innovation, manufacturing or business improvement. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Good command of English. Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint. Experience with data analytics, programming, automation, AI, Lean/Six Sigma or engineering projects will be an advantage. Willing to work in different functions, locations and environments as required by the rotation program. Strong learning agility, ownership and willingness to take on challenging assignments.
